Recycling characters 4.0 style!
Jul. 22nd, 2009 | 06:24 pm
So, we decided we liked 4.0... but we also liked our old characters! The DM allowed us to convert character to 4.0 if we wanted to. However, I decided to retire Deluna. 4.0 did not mesh well with her build at ALL. Thus, Alyuna retired out too. Dan decided to retire his character in favor of one of the new classes, thus the party is now as following...
Kit = Orihalcon - dwarven cleric
Kat = Madonna - invoker deva
Dan = Grimtol - dwarven bear shaman
Sam = Jassaris - Swordmage human (because there is no monk!)
Phil = Philimus - Sorcerer/rogue build still!
Andrew = DM!
As a bear shaman, Grimtol can summon a free bear and attack through it! The group decided the bear's name was 'Godless Killing Machine - Lolbear'. If Lolbear takes less than 15 damage, it does not effect him. If he takes more, he poofs away and Grim takes damage. Lolbear... is very much taken advantage of. XD
( I cut the adventure quotes because of my paaaain )

Giving 4.0 a shot
Jun. 21st, 2009 | 05:38 pm
So, we finally are trying out 4.0 at this point. The idea was if we liked it, we'd convert/reroll and start a new campaign. The DM made us some sample characters and we gave it a go... MUCH was learned...
Me = Dragonborn warlord
Kat = Elf Wizard
Phil = ??? rogue?
Sam = human Swordmage
Dan = Druid (was supposed to be a dwarf bear shamen though)
Andrew = The DM

D&D of (army) draft dodging!
Jun. 2nd, 2009 | 07:45 pm
So, the party now consists of
Me = Deluna, human Cleric to Wee Jas
Wynn = Deluna's cohort, human cleric to Wee jas
Alyuna = human wizard, (Deluna's older sister)
Jassaris = human monk
Jandrix = Jassaris' cohort, human fighter
Lucian = human blackguard, cultist of Vecna
Philimus = Halfling rogue/sorcerer, cults if Vecna
DM = Andrew!
Special notes: The cursed armor found previously is now belonging to Deluna... because the curse of not being able to remove it DOESN'T activate if a girl wears it... however the polymorph curse still effects her. This means during combat she randomly turns into a halfling... and it's taking longer and longer for her to turn back human gain (cue the odd music)
Philimus has leveled apparently, so he's level 10 as well now instead of level 7 as when he vanished.
Jassaris is attempting to make a cult/monestary dedicated to how awesome she is. She is now aspiring to become a god.

Stupid things I've said (or heard)
May. 16th, 2009 | 11:01 pm
Here is a collect of quotes either said by me, or a friend. Yeah, they KNEW I was saving these for postarity. So don't you guys come whining to me!! AND THEY AREN'T RELATED TO D&D! SHOCK AND GASP!
</div>Sean: Does a guy need a reason to put cheese on the sidewalk?!
(Bawls is a highly caffeinated drink… not… the other thing, hehe)
</div>Sean: Does a guy need a reason to put cheese on the sidewalk?!
Kit: Sam and I got a case of blue bawls.
Kat:… oh my god, that sounds BAD!
( Here Be Some Quotes )
</div></div></div>Mariko: What the heck?! Stoppit!
Kit: ::high voice:: Do the Dew!
Kit: Gure! Don't die!
Kit: Gure! Don't die!
Ten: Fine. I'll cast 'life' on you. You're making me waste my MP here.
Gure: ::no response, still 'dead'::
Kit: That's it! I'm going to have to bring him back to life and then waste MORE MP killing him again!

D&D of dumb ideas!
Mar. 21st, 2009 | 01:20 pm
So last time we found the secret location of Venca's cult base. But we got the 'front door' method, not the full shebang how to sneak in. Still, we've at the mouth of a cave in the middle of the woods. The only thing we know is that there will be 'ropers' waiting for us in there. We have no clue what ropers are either! Other than that, IT'S A MYSTERY CAVE!
( We're in UR base, killn UR mans! )
SO! We all lived! But once escaping, we realize something ATE all our horses. THOSE BASTARDS! It takes one full day to heal everyone of their strength damage, and then one half day until the clerics get their spells again. Total time spent at the cave: 1 and 1/2 days. Also, things found? A cursed bow, and a cursed coin. The bow has some sort of compulsion spell on it making whoever picks it up WANT to use it. So of course... who picked it up? ... THE MONK. Fortunately, we dispelled the enchantment long enough for the monk to drop it.
The coin is another matter. The bow fighter picked that up, and it cut his run speed in half. But its an odd coin... always returning to his hands after he throws it or gives it to someone. Deluna removes the curse on it during the day of rest so he can drop it.

D&D: 100g a night for the inn?! Was is this, Final Fantasy?!
Mar. 14th, 2009 | 05:28 pm
mood:
drained
So the group is now heading to a town were Luke has assured us that the cult has been spotted passing through. So we go! But... before we leave, Jassaris sends all of her level 1 minions to return to Dubuque so they don't get endangered, and Deluna's 'potential' sorceress convert goes with.
Deluna has a cohort = Wynn, human cleric level 4
Jassaris has a cohort = Jandrix, human fighter level 7
( Party Sense is tingling! )
It would have been a VERY short session if we had just paid the rogue... but there are times when I think the DM likes his rogues just a bit too much.

D&D: Care of your emo cohort
Feb. 8th, 2009 | 04:16 pm
This session had only ONE short combat, the rest was diplomacy... gone WRONG. I'm still disgusted it took as long as it did for this session.
So we've killed the naga who were found in the cave below the church of Wee Jas. We also found a mysterious altar they had been messing with. MYSTERIOUS!!
( court is now in session. ...OBJECTION! )

D&D of dieting OR STOP EATING PIE!
Feb. 7th, 2009 | 01:38 am
So after escaping pie zombies, everyone flees to a church which is mysteriously left alone by them. Ends up being a temple to Wee Jas. The group torments the pie zombies for a bit before heading into the basement. The basement changes from a hewn stone wall to a natural cave system. It is very strange.
Deluna = human cleric to Wee Jas
Alyuna = human rogue/wizard (Deluna's older sister)
Ulfgar = dwarven defender
Jassaris = human monk
Jandrix = human fighter (Jassaris' cohort)
Luke = human fighter, bows!
( Why do we always find vast amounts of loot we can't have? )
Thus ended our session. We know there are more 'gibbering ghosts' ahead, as Deluna went 'wall scouting and heard them'. The naga are all dead. And a strange mysterious altar is in that room... straaaaange.
